The Ransom Project

Alex, Sara and I created a band. It's name is "The Ransom Project."
We haven't made any music yet, but we have made our primary influence MUSE.
I used Photoshop to create an album cove.
This contains a picture of an anime character. His name is "L" and he is from the anime "Death Note".

Say what you think. Suggestions are quite helpful. (I will change the font and it's color.)

Logo Development

I'm thinking of developing 2/5 logos.
The Wordmark:

And the Emblem:

I chose these two because they are essential to my music production company. The wordmark would be used on a business card, merchandise, the HerpDerp website and where my company is located. The emblem would be used for the CD's album cover, merchandise, and the HerpDerp website.

I am going to attempt to make the logos more colorful and artistic, while keeping the font the same.

Maybe add more to the wordmark to make it more interesting.

Adding more to the emblem would help it resemble a cat face even more.

I have ideas, but I won't say them because that adds surprise. :)

Week 7

I started my album cover, to what band i'm not sure, other than to use mine - which it's name is being contemplated - or colorblind soldiers.
i created my color page, and also my elements of design page.
(All of them contain color... and Helvetica.)
Then, also, we discussed the arts and crafts movement. I learned a new German word... which i can't remember anymore.
Week 7 was quite enjoyable

Week 5

Learned: How to use different brushes, brushes can be annoying, how to make hair-like effects with brushes.
Likes: Colorful, challenging.
Dislikes: Challenging, confusing at times, couldn't choose own colors, brushes were a difficult process.

Derp:

D - Distinguished
E - Elaborate
R - Real [insert Amazing here]
P - ..... PICKLES!

Love Herp

Herp n' Derp's Magical Adventure to Starbucks

Herp's sister Berp was presenting her Senior Project, so Herp and Derp decided to creep on Berp. Berp was doing quite well, so they decided to do something else. Derp came up with the idea of Starbucks, since it was only 2 minutes away. So they went to Starbucks, and had coffee and tea - perhaps crumpets.
Berp called Herp when she was done presenting, so Derp drove Herp back to Berp at school.
The End.

Week 2 - What I Learned

I learned how to use a lens flare, render clouds, and create a starfield. I had a lot of fun, but i also would've wanted a paper copy of the tutorial, since the tutor went quite fast. I could do most of the steps over again, but would probably forget a few.

Week 1 - What I Learned

  • the process of cycling through blend modes ( shift  + )
  • lens flare - process of creating one
  • gradient - different kinds, different colors, different settings
  • creating an awesome from scratch picture, and using the gradient tool to create it
  • black and white can be more helpful than i thought
  • finding an artist i like and a style i like was quite difficult.
  • how to create/merge layers without merging them together and such.

inspiring digital artist

adolfo correa - he adds color and texture to designs/objects/people, enhancing whatever it is to look more modern and colorful. the pictures below are examples of his work.

(#3)

Adidas+Joia many images in one, but the look is awesome.
A Tribute to Yulia Brodskaya don't know if its photoshop or not, but if it isnt, it gives off the affect of being paper.
it helps that he used a gameboy for the picture, but i really liked that he incorporated the "technological"(ish) design
it has the ocean to start out with, but then when you go farther in to the picture and look at it a little more, you see a rainbow-colored thing coming out of something, and tehn a crystalish sky. love.

Selection Tools

Elliptical Marquee: i liked this one. on a scale of 1 to 10... i'd say a 5.5. It was a little easier to use, but i didn't like that i could only do a little with it. I'd use it for things like perhaps a senior picture, so then the background fades into the picture, and vice versa.

MagicWand: My opinion of this tool is that it should've never been created like this. wish you could click and drag to get your selection. I would use this for things like a very small picture, or one that has few colors and colors that are very different (aka red on green, blue on yellow, etc.) i give it a 2 out of 10.

Magnetic Lasso: It was pretty easy to use, except when i was trying to get rid of mistakes. I would use this if i was putting an object into a background or detailed pictures. i give it a remarkable 8 out of 10.

Quick Selection: This was, by far, the easiest one. i liked it the best because you can click and drag, and it senses the border of different items. i would use this in whatever i edited. i give it a 10 out of 10.
